Katie Metcalfe Music provides high quality tuition at affordable prices

The music school was founded ten years ago by Katie Metcalfe in response to increasing demand for instrumental tuition in South Harpenden. The aim was to provide affordable lessons of a high quality whilst employing talented and enthusiastic teachers from around Hertfordshire.

The business grew steadily to reach its present form. We now teach over 130 students each week at a number of convenient venues and have excellent results in all public exams. A main goal from the start was to have good communication between student, teacher and parents; teachers make time at the start or end of lessons to discuss progress with parents and to help support students with practice set each week.

Since January 2013 Katie has been responsible for directing the choir at St Dominic’s RC Primary School, Harpenden. This role includes taking hymn practice for the school and providing music to accompany the school Masses throughout the year.

What parents have to say…

“My daughter has been learning piano with Katie for four years and is making excellent progress. Katie adapts her teaching and assessment style to suit my daughter’s needs. She gives positive and enthusiastic reinforcement directly to my daughter and in her weekly progress diary. My daughter WANTS to practice so that she can improve and please Katie. If there had been a “Katie” when I was a child I might have kept up my lessons! “

“Our house is now full of music! Thanks to the skilled teachers my children have made excellent progress and as a direct result my eldest has chosen to take GCSE Music.  I have seen, and heard, a real love of music develop which is a delight. Thank you”
